Tea with My Girls

My granddaughters were very excited about my
new tea cup and saucer
that I won at Terri's (Artful Affirmations) give-away.
They decided that it was time for us to have a tea party.

My beautiful mother in-law (that went to be with the Lord many
years ago and  I miss her so very much)
had given me this beautiful vintage tablecloth.
I thought this would look lovely on the table.

The girls and I had shopped earlier that day and found this
wonderful little Princess tea set. The girls oooed and ahhhed
so much that I thought it would be great to have this for a lovely tea.

So I asked them what they thought would be nice
to serve for this tea party.
NACHOS!  So Little bit gets out the chips and cheese
and made a wonderful plate full.

She is certainly my Little Chef!!

And Doodles loves eating whatever her little sister will fix.
She's more of the artist type.

These two are Two Peas in a Pod! They have a very
close relationship. Doodles said that she and Little Bit
will get an apartment together when they get older.
Little Bit will do all the cooking and she will do all the cleaning.
Sounds like a plan!

Don't forget the little pinky!

Would you like an Oreo?

Doodles didn't care too much for me taking her picture.

SHE LOST HER TOOTH! Yep! That loose tooth finally came out.

All in all....it was a FUN tea time!

The little tea set was adorable...

And we had a WONDERFUL time talking, and laughing
and enjoying each others company!

These are precious moments that I never want to lose.

Good Morning, Tea Ladies!

Good morning, Tea Ladies!

Well, I received the beautiful tea cup and saucer
from Terri from Artful Affirmations.

I JUST LOVE IT!

Not only did she send the tea set, she also sent some AWESOME teas!

And also sent the sweetest card!
Terri, you made me feel so special.

Check out the beautiful handle. I love the shinny gold.
And doesn't it look like the shape of a spoon?

I love the directions on the Organic Chamomile with Lavender;
Brew Well to be Well.

This tea eases tension, stress and a nervous stomach because
of the digestive and nervous system sedating properties.

This tea has MANY health benefits:
  • Treating digestive discomfort, including indigestion, heartburn and irritable bowel syndrome. Taking peppermint can improve bile production, which helps to break down fats in the system.
  • Soothing the feeling of nausea and controlling the urge to vomit.
  • Prevent a build up of gas in the digestive tract.
  • Helps sufferers of bad breath.
  • It is thought to be beneficial for helping to break down gallstones, but should only be attempted under a doctors care, because it depends on the type of stone.
  • Very useful remedy when suffering from a cold or cough, for the mild expectorant properties can encourage the body to expel mucus from the respiratory system.
  • The main benefit of peppermint tea is to strengthen the immune system. It has good amounts of nutrients, which can help the body to fight off illness and infection.
  • It's a remedy for STRESS thanks to its refreshing aroma. It can help relieve headaches and aid with restful sleep which are both symptoms of stress.
  • Since it's calming to the stomach, it is beneficial if suffering from travel or motion sickness.
Here's some warnings about this Peppermint Tea:
Pregnant women should consult their doctor before drinking it
as it may cause the muscles of the uterus to relax too much.
Excessive amounts of the tea can cause diarrhea and heart palpitations.
Those with acid reflux problems should avoid the herb.

Egyptians have a long history of cultivating and using
licorice root to treat various health conditions.

Licorice contains a compound called glycyrrhizic acid which
is 50 times sweeter than sugar. So this acid can have both
positive and negative effects on human health. It is noted
that scientist can extract this compound from licorice root to
create deglycyrrhizinated licorice, or DGL. So if you doctor
suggests that you comsume this type of tea, ask if you should
drink it with or without glycyrrhizic acid.

Licorice tea has been known to treat various digestive problems,
including peptic and gastric ulcers. The University of Maryland
Medical Center's clinical study treated 100 ulcer patients with
licorice root extract fro 6 weeks. The ulcers either improved or
healed in 90 percent of the patients. Their study also shows
that licorice supplements appear to alleviate the symptoms of
gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, acid reflux and
indigestion. But as always, consult your physician before
treating any digestive problems with this tea.

OK Ladies, here are some CAUTIONS for Egyptian licorice tea:
This tea could interact with various prescription drugs. If you are
taking corticosteroids, ACE inhibitors or oral contraceptives,
consult your physician. If you are pregnant or suffer from diabetes,
cardiovascular disease, water retention or liver disease, avoid this tea.

OK, hope I didn't get too carried away with too much health information.
But can anyone get TOO MUCH health information?  I would hope not.

My beautiful tea set is Royal Albert. I am so amazed at getting
such a wonderful treasure.

Don't you just love the sweet, little humming bird?

Terri, I am so excited about the gift and so very thankful
you had a give away and that I WON!

Terri at Artful Affirmation has some very lovely tea sets

I've missed Martha at Martha's Favorites. So let's

Well, the Olympics has come and gone! What an exciting two weeks!!  I enjoyed a lot of different competitions; swimming, synchronized swimming, running, basketball, volleyball, shooting, dancing, flips, dips, and trips!! It was all AMAZING from the Opening Ceremony to the Closing Ceremony..

I took a view pictures in front of my TV last night during the closing ceremony.

Beautiful runway

The Model section

One of my favorite performers, Annie Lennox.
Annie has won a total of eight awards at the Brit Award,
and she has been named the "Brit Champion of Champions."

She put on quite a show for the crowd.

This is Russel Brand.

This is my favorite shot of him!!

FAT BOY SLIM! Turning Russel's bus into an Octopus!

Now how cleaver is that!!

"When a man is tired of London, He is tired of life."

Then there was Jessie J. Not a favorite, but why not.
I think she did very well.

Surprises in the Rolls Royce. Still, not my favorites, but very entertaining.

The Spice Girl's taxi ride.

Very exciting with QUEEN back on stage.

I could just go on and on...

But the ceremony had to come to a close.
The flag was taken down.

Prince Harry looks rather sad.

Another look at the torches.
