Flower Power - Mosaic Monday

Good morning on this beautiful day. I was sick last week and
didn't get a chance to post anything. So today I would
love to share with you some photos I took of
some beautiful roses and Christmas cactus.

Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and
forgot to put a soul into. ~ Henry Beecher, Life Thoughts, 1858

Earth laughs in flowers. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Hamatreya"

Flowers seem intended for the solace of ordinary humanity. ~John Ruskin

Christmas Cactus - Jolly Dancer

The Power of the Flower

I love the soft touch of a flower
It's petals so delicate and warm
The fragrance surrounds the senses
Delighting my soul this morn

I love the sight of colorful flowers
Oh, the power it has over me
I want to wallow in its beauty
For there within lies the key

Just the sight of this creation
Softens even the hardest heart
Bringing tender sensations
With Hope of a fresh new start

  1. Roses just seem to go with Christmas celebrations - red and white roses. That said, I still have a small bush of yellow roses blooming in my northwest garden.

  3. Love your flower photos, Brenda, and the poem is a delight! I agree, and as I say, flowers are kisses from God.

I love roses...and the cactus flower looks so exotic. Simply beautiful...by the way, I don't really agree with Henry Beecher. Flowers most certainly do have the essence of God. A most soulful creation.
