My Own Christmas Find - TeaCup Tuesday

My wonderful husband and I decided to go to one of our thrift stores the other day. Well, it was I that insisted we go...LOL...but he is such a great guy that he agreed to go. Just as I stepped into the store, I saw this sitting upon a shelf. I hurriedly walked in that direction as if I were on fire. My husband couldn't believe this was what I was going after. I told him I didn't want to give anyone else a chance to grab this delight...

A one cup tea set that are in my favorite colors! I was so excited that I grabbed it up and said this is my Christmas gift to me. It was only $4.99.

A Childhood Memory:
When I was a little girl, I can remember one year for Christmas I got a wonderful set of wooden chairs and small table (my own dining room set!) with a stove and refrigerator; you know, child size. I also received a china tea set. I loved it so much. But when my brothers played with me, we used the stove and refrigerator as caves for their dinosaurs. Then to play cowboys and Indians, we used the table and chairs to protect us from rifle shots!! LOL! Then I would bring them koolaid in the tea set. I was just never girly, girly all the time....I was also a tomboy. When you have brothers you love and want to spend time with, you have to compromise!! We always had a great time! I sure love my brothers a lot!!

Anyway, the tea set is rather small, but makes a delightful cup of tea for one. And as you can see, my kitchen is in this beautiful blue. It may not be the taste of most, but I love bold colors.

"A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is
until you put her in hot water." ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

I will be joining Sandi and Terri and Trish for tea time. Please take the time to visit them.
You will not regret it.

My granddaughter took this photo of me.
All other photos were taken by me.

  9. What a gorgeous find! how sweet your hubby to take you there, i cant say the same with mine hehe, Loving the bold blue color of your kitchen and I'm like you! i've two brothers that always try to drag me in their games when i was little, so i was only girly when i reached my teenagers and hang out with more girls than boys but i still can be tomboy whenever my brothers' friend came around :)

Wishing you a lovely Christmas filled with Love and Blessings!

  10. Great find, Brenda! I'm so happy you have a special Christmas gift just for you. I call them "sweet indulgences" here at my house. As long as I keep them affordable, I have no problem bringing little blessings my way once in awhile. Fun to read about your childhood memories too. Have a wonderfully blessed Christmas with your family.

  12. Hi Brenda, What a wonderful tea for one you found and what a great price. I love the bold color too. Your childhood memory is delightful. I can relate a bit as I too received a table and little chair set when I was a little girl. Oh how I loved it and many a tea party I had with my little friends with it. I was an only child however, I had 5 boy cousins all older and we played the exact same way you describe. They used to boss me around a bit, so one time when I was told/asked~~~ to make them some Koolaid, I left the sugar out so it would taste bad.(that was when you had to add one cup of sugar to the mix) LOL LOL the looks on their faces were priceless. They didn't boss me around so much after that. LOL
Thank you for a fun tea and the walk down memory lane too.

Merry Christmas to you and yours and blessings in the new year.
    Hugs from Texas, Celestina Marie
