The Beauty of a Thistle

It has been a while since I have been able to post anything
and I apologize. The time just seems to slip away.

I took this photo some time ago, and I loved
the way the macro shot just jumps out at you. I
was mesmerized at it's beauty and these words
just came to me.

Hit on the photo to enlarge for better viewing and reading.

I hope you enjoy my poem.

Here's to your health!

  1. Welcome back, Brenda - we missed you!

I'm so happy that you posted this poem, and I hope you post more. I really like the way you featured the poem with the photo - terrific!

The Beauty of a Thistle is a delightful poem, full of many things to contemplate for ones own life - like how beauty can come out of (and most often does) harsh places. My favorite part is "center yourself until all else fades...", and I actually used that as a visual when I meditated yesterday.

    Blessings for more inspiration,

    Marianne xo

  4. That's beautiful - the picture, the flower and your words.
I had to stop and study the flower for a moment - it is surrounded isn't it? And then again, the thorny stuff must surely protect it too? At least that's what I've heard about some plants. And the things we go through do make us stronger - though we don't realize it always.

    Enjoyed your post!

Thanks for stopping by my place the other day.
P.S. I reopened my old blogger blog. At it yet again. The import of posts didn't do real well w/some things - but at least it's there. I have a link to it on my sidebar, if you're interested. ;) Thanks, Jenn Oh, wait, I'll sign off w/Google! Bright idea! :)
