The Beauty of a Thistle

I look at this flower upon this Thistle bush and wondered at its power.
It’s hard to imagine that something this beautiful came from such a place.
I contemplated its struggles to survive amongst the thorns and thistles.
But here it is with all its beauty, strength, and wisdom.

Center yourself ‘til all else fades, taking deep breaths of sunshine.
Take in the storms that can empower you for beauty beyond belief.
Sway with the hard winds to build strength beyond measure.
Drink in the heavenly substance that will sustain you.

Reach for the sunlight that gives you everlasting warmth.
Open your heart to receive all that God has just for you.
After all of the struggles from storms that have gone by
One day you stand out above the crowd.
